News and Upcoming School Events

Siu Lum Martial Arts Academy has many upcoming events for our students and school families. Refer to this page to find out about upcoming tournaments, promotion testing, school functions and other school related information.

We will also be posting news bulletins or other pertinent information regarding the school, its students, its instructors, or the Master. The calendar will also list these items as well. Make sure you print out the school calendar each month for easy reference.

1st Annual Battle of Champions / Eastern Delaware County Children's Martial Arts Championships  12/12/04  (10:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Congratulations to a GREAT performance by all of the children from Siu Lum Martial Arts Academy! This well-attended tournament had a large turnout, and many divisions had twenty-five to thirty competitors, more than normal for a first-time event.

In an unexpectedly tough competition, Siu Lum Students pulled together to win six First Place trophies, two Second Place trophies, two Third Place trophies, and the Grand Champion Forms Underbelt trophy.

Vu Tran pulled a "Triple Crown" - placing First in all three of his entered divisions (Weapons, Forms, and Sparring), and topped off the Triple Crown by winning the Grand Champion Forms Underbelt trophy.

His brother, Joseph Tran, pulled a pair of Firsts by placing First in Weapons, and Forms.

Tan Lu won First Place in Sparring.

Tony Nguyen and Danny Loevy each took First Place in their respective sparring divisions.

Richard Pham took a pair of Third Place awards for Forms and Sparring.

Also showing (placing fourth through eighth) were Mikey Gerolamo, Maajid Forrest, Josh Loevy, Tommy Nguyen, and Austin Seiberlich. Due to a procedural error, Kayla Seiberlich was unable to fight in her division, but we're sure she will have a chance to exact penance on her competitors in a future tournament.

32nd Annual Green Dragon Kwan Championship  4/19/08  (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR STUDENT COMPETITORS!

Five Siu Lum Martial Arts Academy students competed at the 32nd Annual Green Dragon Kwan Championship on April 19th, in Bordentown, NJ. This highly ranked, well-regarded tournament had schools in attendance from all along the East Coast - even as far away as Florida. Despite the tough competition, our students shone like a series of bright lights among a sea of competitors.
